V2 Vaults Live
I’ve been covering Yearn a lot recently. They just keep on shipping.
Today’s release brings the long-awaited V2 vaults, as well as an update to governance (more on that another day).
Vasa put out a fantastic diagram as well as a technical explainer, so feel free to dive into all the juicy details.
Here’s some further info on the vaults from the latest State of the Vaults blog:
”These new v2 yVaults will integrate guest lists and capped strategies that will ramp up over time. v2 yVaults launching soon may include HEGIC, DAI, WETH, and WBTC, but this list is not final and is subject to change. Furthermore, Yearn’s strategists continue to test new yVaults, including zLOT and crETH 2.0.
Right now there’s a password on the new V2 UI (https://v2.yearn.finance/).
According to Banteg anyone with 1 YFI (across services) will be able to access them, and this will slowly lower over time.
PieDAO’s Yearn Ecosystem Pie
Even before the merger spree the PieDAO community was paying attention to Andre and the emerging tokens.
The first proposal called for an Andre Index, but that soon evolved into a full Yearn ecosystem index after the Pickle, Cream, Akro, Cover and Sushi tokens became part of the operation.
You can check out the forum post here.
So far $YPIE is the leading name contender, with the pie containing 40% YFI, 34% SUSHI and lesser amounts of the over tokens.
This weighting is done based on the market cap of each project, with a larger share going to larger cap tokens (with a 40% upper limit). We do this to maximise the size the pie can grow to, where other indexes will reach a bottleneck from low liquidity small cap tokens.
Fubaloubu raised a good point, and I’m looking forward to discussing this more as we build this pie together!
One of the most exciting features of the pie is metagovernance, allowing easy governance across the whole Yearn ecosystem through our governance token DOUGH.
I’ll be writing more on this topic very soon.
